Discrimination
Xytex would never discriminate against anyone who wanted to
use our services. Our only requirement is that the patient must be working with
a doctor, and her doctor must have determined that she is healthy enough to
undergo fertility treatments. However,
a recent website is only allowing only “attractive”
people to take part of their egg and sperm donor site. The website is called, Beautiful People.
Robert Hintz, the founder of Beautiful People, who is now
launching its Beautiful Baby service said, “Initially, we hesitated to widen
the offering to non-beautiful people, but everyone including ugly people would
like to bring good looking children into the world, and we can’t be selfish
with our attractive gene pool.”
If you would like to read more from Robert Hintz and what he
calls a “response to demand from users” here is article
on Fox News.
Do you think this is ethical? I agree that we all want beautiful babies,
but what I see as beautiful may not be to someone else. I wonder what his criteria is when judging
others. Is there a checklist?
