Waiting
I found a video from January of this
year called, “The Best Time to Have Children.”
You can find the video clip at http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/OnCall/video/best-time-children-9697059. The Good Morning American Doctor, Marie
Savard, explains the results from a study released around that time.
She explained that by the age of
thirty most women only have 12% of their eggs left. Those in their forties only have about 3%
remaining. Although these results are
not always the case with every individual, Dr. Savard says, “the sooner the
better” when it comes to having children.
She also mentioned three factors that contribute to egg loss. The
factors were smoking, being overweight, and having stress in your life. Also she cleared up a myth about birth
control affecting women’s fertility, she said that was incorrect.
If these results have you worried,
Dr. Savard suggests that you speak with your doctor. Doctors could do ovary testing and even some
blood work to determine if waiting is a possibility.
