How many attempts?
It is common for those undergoing
donor insemination to wonder, “how long before I will become pregnant?” Although it would be wonderful if Xytex could
promise a pregnancy with each vial of sperm, that is simply impossible. A pregnancy simply can not be guaranteed.
Something that we do know is that on
average, it takes 5 to 6 attempts at donor insemination to have success, which
is 40% higher than through coitus. However,
it could happen sooner. Xytex has received
many phone calls after the first inseminations from happy clients who’ve had
success. At the same time, we’ve heard
from discouraged patients who have tried for a year with no success.
It is best to be prepared to try
multiple times, this way you are putting less pressure on yourself and lowering
your stress levels. If you have success
early, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
If you wish to use the same donor for each try, we suggest purchasing
all of the samples at once. This also
reduces stress levels as you won’t be wondering if your perfect donor will be
available to you next month if your current treatment is not successful. When you have multiple units, it insures that
the donor will be available when you want to try again for your first, or for
siblings.
Best of luck to everyone who is
trying to conceive!
